The power is turned on with the switch in the line cord and the plate, grid, and filament are individually adjustable with the knobs so labeled. Demonstrate the electrons flowing from the filament to the plate (it is coated with phosphor so it glows when the electrons hit it) and the action of the grid in controlling the flow of electrons to the plate.
